Manchester United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær will take his Red Devils on a trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on a spirited Arsenal side capable enough to spark some damage and do the double over them in the Premier League this season. With Arsenal heading into this fixture on the back of a win in their last league clash, United are a less confident side after their loss against bottom table side Sheffield United at Old Trafford.
Arsenal will be without the presence of four key players, while the participation of one other player is still very much in doubt.
Kieran Tierney will still undergo some tests just before kickoff to ascertain whether he will be fit enough to feature in the clash. He last played for Arsenal in the Gunners’ fixture against Newcastle United on the 18th of January and is in a race against time to be passed fit for this encounter.
The first player missing is club captain and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The star striker is currently dealing with personal problems and is taking care of his mom who has health issues. Mat Ryan has a knock to his right hip in training and is ruled out. Dani Ceballos is still out with a calf injury but has returned to training already. He will miss the clash too.
Pablo Mari is another player who will be ruled out after picking up a knock during training but is expected to make it to their next match. Meanwhile, the duo of Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey are available for selection after returning to the team recently.
A loss for United will dent their title hopes after their shock defeat against Sheffield the last time out.
Predicted Starting Lineup:
Leno; Cedric; Holding; Tierney; Luiz; Xhaka; Partey; Saka; Smith Rowe; Pepe; Lacazette
